SURVIVORS of CANINE ATTACKS RECOGNITION and SUPPORT
Each personalized gift is accompanied by a survivor story. We include photos and personal letters from children who have lived through these traumatic experiences and want to share their stories of hope and survival.
Post it, tweet it, share it. The more people you tell, the more survivors we are able to support.
Many children will leave the hospital with multiple scars, both internal and external. Receiving a personalized gift reminds survivors that they are never alone or without hope. The dedicated volunteers at SCARS KIDS hand deliver these personalized gifts whenever possible.

Over 4.5 million people in the U.S. are bitten by dogs annually, and according to the CDC, more than 400,000 children receive medical attention each year for their injuries. Many children will sustain severe life threatening injuries and be forced to live with extensive external scars, often requiring a lifetime of surgeries. These kids can struggle with internal scars such as PTSD, night terrors, anxiety, panic attacks and extreme fear.
SCARS KIDS works hard to ensure these children know they are not alone. We strive to put a smile of the face of every survivor by providing them with a personalized giftand a letter of hope from another child survivor who understands what they are going through and supports their recovery.
